LiftingSafety Temporary or Permanent Mount Load Arrestors, Range from 300kg to 1600kg

Load Arrestor Shackle Or Bolt Mount Load Arrestor Back

Load arrestors provide secondary protection to almost all types of goods lifting. Similarly to how a seat belt work - should the primary device fail - the goods will start to fall which will cause the load arrestor to catch the load thus ensuring the safety of the personnel working in the immediate area and also possibly reducing damage to expensive machinery and work loads.

Designed for arduous duty cycles and where the stopping distance is critical, these cast aluminium cased Load Arrestors manufactured to stop outer water ingress and are fitted with 4 heavy duty pawls that lock into a ratchet type reduction system this load arrestor will work where others fail.

This range of load arrestors are incredibly versatile as they are able to be either bolt mounted for permanent works, or shackle mounted when a temporary solution is required.

Due to the way in which these unit work, stopping distances are very exact and can be increased or decreased to suit customer requirements although decreasing the stopping distance increases the anchorage loading and increasing the stopping distance decreases the anchorage loading.

  • Minimum of 2:1 safety factor to ensure that your load is safe if your primary device fails.
  • Offering protection of loads from 25kg up to 1600kg.
  • Able to be either bolt mounted, better for permanent works, or shackle mounted when a temporary solution is required makes it incredibly versatile.
  • 3 different activation speeds to choose from, 0.3 metres per second, 0.5 meters per second and 1.0 meters per second.
  • All of these Load Arrestors that have a pulley supplied with them can only have the 0.5 meters per second activation speed.
  • Built in activation indicator, once activated the unit must be serviced immediately.
  • Tested to machinery directive 2006/42/EC.
  • Custom units available on request.

The most important part of this procedure is to ensure that the both the Anchor point and the load have anchor points that will take the potential force.

Anchorage points for non pulley units need to achieve the following minimums:

  • 300kg Units 15.8kN 400kg Units 22.8kN
  • 500kg Units 31.0kN 800kg Units 40.5kN

These Load Arrestors can be either mounted using both of the 13mm bolt holes through the carrying handle or using the bow shackle supplied (secure with loctite when in place). The Load Arrestor wire rope is then connected to the load via the eyelet (thimble eye).

These arrestors have been tested to a maximum of 30º of vertical and this should not be exceeded!

When first fitted the wire rope should be pulled out slowly so as to not over speed and cause activation. The end of the usable rope length is painted red. The internal spring will retract the wire automatically and settle the lays of the wire. When in use the wire moves in and out during the machines normal cycle. Great care should be taken when installing the unit that during normal cycle the RED SAFETY PART OF THE WIRE ROPE IS NEVER EXPOSED! This is there for your safety!
