LiftingSafety Automatic Evacuation Rescue Descender / Fall Arrest Inertia Reel Block, Aluminium Housing, Steel Cable Lanyard with Snap Hook - 9m, 18m or 30m
Fall arrest block with built-in auto descent function for self-rescue. Conforms to EN360 and EN341.
1FAD-2680
Specifically developed to offer fall protection and rescue in one, that is easy to use.
Working similar to a car safety belt, during normal use the user can move freely whilst the galvanised steel cable lifeline is kept under permanent tension. This device functions in the same way as a conventional fall arrest block, however once the fall has been arrested, the device immediately lowers the user to the ground at a constant speed of 0.9m/sec.
Certified to EN360 and EN341 and with an integral controlled descent mechanism these Aluminium housed Fall Arrest Blocks are sturdy and low maintenance and available with a 9m, 18m or 30m steel rope lifeline. The snaphook with a fall indicator, installed in the retractable fasteners, shows the user whether the device has been encumbered by a fall, thus making a check necessary.
Models:
- 9m steel cable life-line: Weight 5kg, Dims: 455 x 160 x 120mm
- 18m steel cable life-line: Weight 11kg, Dims: 580 x 232 x 135mm
- 30m steel cable life-line: Weight 17kg, Dims: 610 x 280 x 140mm
Product features:
- Easy to use, low-maintenance design.
- Various cable lengths available.
- Shockproof aluminium housing.
- Single handed, double action hook to connect to the users harness.
- Double action hook has swivel function to eliminate cable twisting.
- large carrying and attachment handle (18 & 30 metre models)
- Swivel eye anchorage attachment point (9 metre model only) - Attachment options available under 'Pricing' tab.
- World renowned German build quality.
- Controlled descent rate of descent is 0.9m per second.
- The double action swivel hook at the end of the lifeline also incorporates a 'load indicator' which would mean the user can check the unit hasn't been used/loaded prior to use.
Certification
It should be noted that this Fall Arrest Block is CE marked against EN341 under the PPE Directive and should be treated as such and NOT as lifting equipment.
Service and Inspection
Service and inspection requirements for this fall arrest block is that it should be inspected and function checked by a trained competent person on a regular basis as deemed by a risk assessment for the environment in which it is used and frequency of use, but at least every 6 months. Additionally, every 12 months it should be returned to Selby Engineering, for a Full Service, when it will be tested under workshop conditions and re-certificated as laid down by the manufacturer.
